Usher action planning meeting
Please join us on March 18th 7-9 p.m. at the Uplands Community Centre for a strategy meeting. I know it looks bleak now but I still think we as a community have some fight left in us. Some options that have been put forward are tax changes, lobbying our provincial government, a vigil at Usher, etc. We are not done and we will fight this!!!
Placard Parties!
What goes better together than placards and pizza? Bring the whole family for an evening of creative sign-making. We will use these signs for demonstrations and public events.
What to bring
Paint, poster paper, markers, white cloth, craft supplies of any kind, music, imagination.

Show your love
Mark Tuesday, Feb. 19 in your calendar as the next School Board meeting, and join us in the parking lot at 6:15 p.m. for a lively demonstration to show we love our schools. Kids and teens welcome.
The board meeting commences at 7 p.m. If you represent a concerned community organization, consider asking to be placed on the agenda.
Bring colourful signs and messages (see placard party notice) focusing on the three immediate closures: Herchmer, Stewart Russel and Usher.

Petition Blitz
With front page headlines, the pressure is on to make our petition count. We will be holding a Saturday petition blitz. Parents and supporters are asked to gather at Groovy Mama's, 3100-13th Ave at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16. From there we will fan out to various locations and events. It should not take long to gain more signatures than the 120 people who filled out the board's 'feedback' survey last year - but the main point is to take this as an opportunity to talk to citizens about this very important issue.
